This exciting poster featuring the work of famed poster artist REYNOLD BROWN is in Good / Very Good condition. With light to moderate edge and surface wear and moderate edge wrinkling ; two approx. 1" vertical tears in the bottom right edge and an approx. 1" horizontal tear in the right edge have NSS repairs on the back of the poster with long pieces of packing tape ; a visible light, irregular horizontal crease extends from center right to center left edge ; some fingerprinting along the right and left edges and the top corners ; a few thin, light and sparse stains / discolorations in the lower left edge area and bottom left edge area. It has always been ROLLED or stored flat, with no (machine) folds. Printed on flat poster stock with rich colors.
This poster's fantastic, powerful REYNOLD BROWN poster painting showcases the image of a GLADIATOR in battle dress who seems to practically lunge off the the poster! Surrounding him are sexy, chained SLAVE GIRLS, CHARIOTS , A CATAPULT hurling a firey rock, throngs of WARRING SOLDIERS and a CASTLE. Two additional insert paintings illustrate their captions: "The Orgy Of The Pagan Slaves" and "The Sacrifice of the Virgin in the Temple of RA " Includes an impressive, epic-style logo.
The Italian film, acquired by AIP for the U.S., stars ANITA EKBERG , LORELLA DeLUCA , GEORGE MARSHALL and JACQUES SERNAS . The uncredited Direction is by GUIDO BRIGNONE
