This approx. 40 x 60" Movie Item:
THEY CAME FROM WITHIN (AKA: The Parasite Murders and Frissons ) ~ U.S. RELEASE POSTER NSS# 76/7 ~ TRANS-AMERICAN FILMS ~ 1976
This striking, Cult-Classic poster from Horror-Icon DAVID CRONENBERG 's first commercial feature is in Very Good / Excellent condition. With light edge and surface wear ; a few small surfaces creases ; an approx. 10" angled crease at the upper center-right from top edge thru hyphen ; pale foxing (spotting) throughout the word "Terror" and partly into text immediately below ; multiple staple holes in all four corner areas ; some light fingerprinting. Like most posters of this size, it is printed on extra-heavy glossy poster stock. It has always been ROLLED - never folded. Stored out-of-sunlight since the 70s, the colors are deep and unfaded.
The eerie exploitation poster features a great image from the film: a screaming woman struggling in a bathtub swirling with greenish-colored water. Includes the film's great, stylized logo, all against a deep black background.
The truly unnerving Canadian shocker, which launched the career of writer/director DAVID CRONENBERG stars PAUL HAMPTON , JOE SILVER , LYNN LOWRY and BARBARA STEELE "as Betts."
Exploitation Text (with reference to the ongoing EXORCST film phenomena) reads:
" T - E - R - R - O - R
BEYOND THE POWER OF PRIEST OR SCIENCE TO EXORCISE! "
The accompanying photo shows this actual item. The lower portion of this large poster has some shadowing on the photograph that's not on the actual poster, which is consistent in brightness from top to bottom! Additional photos may be included to show detail close-ups of this same item. Ebay's photo service imposes their logo at the bottom right-hand corner which doesn't appear on the actual item. There may be clips visible in the photos, variously at the four corners and the top and/or bottom center edges. These are not a flaw in or a part of this item. The words "Percepto Sample Image" which may appear on some auction photos does not appear on the actual item. All rights reserved for original photos, artwork and text.
