THE ROCKETEER ~ U.S. RELEASE POSTER ~ WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS ~ 1991
This gorgeous, striking ART DECO / SCI-FI poster is in EXCELLENT condition with very light edge and surface wear. It has always been ROLLED - Never Folded and appears unused. Printed on heavy, high-gloss poster stock with brilliant, unfaded colors.
Using 30's ART DECO ILLUSTRATION STYLE to sell the 30's-period SCI-FI / FANTASY film, this highly-regarded poster creates an exciting illusion of motion: Prismatic, jagged shards of pale blues, greens and grays background the film's lightning-bolted title logo. The speeding image of the helmeted ROCKETEER resembles a 40's auto hood ornament (a costume affectionately appropriated for this film from a 1949 movie serial, KING OF THE ROCKETMEN ) and he speeds upward, away from an abstract circle-image at the lower left (the Earth? The Sun?) in this superior, dazzling example of real Hollywood poster art!
THE ROCKETEER stars BILL CAMPBELL , JENNIFER CONNELLY , ALAN ARKIN , TIMOTHY DALTON , PAUL SORVINO and TERRY O'QUINN Directed by JOE JOHNSTON (No film credits are listed on this actual poster).
