This RARE, THRILLING SCI-FI ART poster from the ROGER CORMAN Executive-Produced Independant release is in Good / Very Good condition. It has always been ROLLED or stored flat - NEVER FOLDED. With overall light edge and surface wear ; heavier edge wrinkling along the bottom edge and left edge with a few small tears ; paper thinning on the back, along the edges, apparently from tape removal ; 6 light but visible horizontal surface scrapes, almost equally spaced apart, coming from the right center edge and extending approx. 12" into the poster artwork ; a heavier, approx. 6" horizontal surface scrape at the top right edge, extending into artwork ; some minor surface crease and light signs of handling. Stored flat and out-of-sunlight since the 70s, the colors are rich and unfaded. Printed on flat poster stock.
A terrific, 50s-Look poster from a Russian Sci-Fi adventure (original title: Nebo Zowet ) that was acquired by AIP icon ROGER CORMAN who bestowed newly-filmed MONSTER footage and edited out a lot of dialogue. The brooding poster art shows CORMAN's monsters (notoriously considered to be representations of the male and female reproductive organs): one creature sports bulging eyes, furry clawed tentacles with a vertical oval cavity that's lined with razor-sharp teeth , the others are giant fur-rimmed eyeballs attatched to writhing, snake-like bodies.
Frightened Astronaut-eyes peer from oddly-proportioned space suits - numbered like football jerseys - as one (#5) is captured in a monster's grasp while another (#3) oddly waves at us! A great 50s-style BULLET-SHAPED ROCKET extends the length of the poster while another explodes in the sky. With a terrific, stylized title-logo in orange and a nice, clean look as there are no cast or production credits on the poster.
The film stars uncredited actors: ARLA POWELL , ANDY STEWART and BRUCE HUNTER . Directed by ALEXANDER KOZYR and THOMAS COLCHART, with the US MONSTER BATTLE SCENE reportedly directed by a young FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA!
